Supporting our students
Learning Support at Border Christian College, consists of a dynamic team of expert teachers, working together to support the diverse needs of our students.
Our learning support team provides evidence-based targeted interventions and personalised strategies to help students overcome the challenges that may arise in their academic programs. Student progress is carefully monitored through regular data collection, ensuring support is timely, purposeful and effective, helping students grow with confidence.
The following programs and learning supports are currently accessible to our students:
- MiniLit
- MacqLit
- Explicit teaching interventions, specifically designed for students at their point of need, in numeracy and literacy (e.g. Math Boost, Reading Boost)
- English as Another Language/Dialect support
- Small group, or one-on-one support, as required
- Teacher aide support in class, or in a small group setting
Learning Support, at Border Christian College, plays a vital role in student wellbeing by helping children feel successful, confident, and connected. Working closely with our Chaplain, classroom teachers and parents, we create a caring community where students are provided with the opportunity to flourish.
